There are certain environmental factors that stimulate the series of events that eventually lead to migraine attack. These are called triggers of migraine.
Some of these are food items while some are environmental stimuli.
The food items include-
Certain beverages that contain caffeine e.g. coffee, colas etc.
Chinese food due to the presence of MSG or monosodium glutamate.
Fermented food e.g. yogurt
Freshly baked breads, muffins and cakes.
Wines and red vinegar.
Chocolates.
Some beans e.g. broad beans.
Cured sausage, pork.
Ripe pizza cheese.
Environmental stimuli include-
Bright light
Stress or sleep deprivation
Excess noise
Certain odors
If a person is susceptible to these triggers, it's a wise idea to avoid them as much as possible.
